Dr Yogendra Narain – Chief Patron & advisor on Strategy
Dr. Narain is a 1965 batch retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. He is a Former Secretary-General of Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. The Secretary-General is appointed by the Chairman of Rajya Sabha i.e. Vice President of India and holds rank equivalent to the Cabinet Secretary of India, the seniormost civil servant of the country.
Presently he is serving as Member Grievances Redressal committee at Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) and Member, Board of Directors at Reliance Power Limited.

Mr Sunand Sharma – Strategy
Mr. Sunand Sharma is currently also an advisor on Rail & Infrastructure to HFCL and Alstom. He was President, Alstom International, India & South Asia and Chairman, Alstom India Ltd. 2006-2014. During his tenure, the company has transformed its presence in the India & South Asia Area and made major capital investments, whilst strengthening its position in Thermal Power, Renewable Power and Transport, and integrated the business of Grid in India and South Asia. The volume of business as well as the employee strength has grown manifold and the India and South Asia Area is one of the fastest growing in Alstom. India & South Asia now represents close to 10% of the company’s global orders and employee base.
He is currently President of the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), a Member of the National Executive Committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), and a National Council Member of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as well as of various Councils and Committees of these associations. Prior to joining Alstom, he led the Business Development effort of GE in India in the ’80s and ’90s that established GE’s leadership in India in Aircraft Engines, Gas Turbines and Medical Systems. From the mid ’90s till 2006 he provided strategic advice to various leading global companies including Nokia Telecommunications Oy of Finland, Owens Corning Fiberglas Inc. of USA, Energy Developments Limited of Australia, Vialle Alternative Fuel Systems and the Royal Cebeco Group of the Netherlands, GE Wind Energy of USA and Acciona Energia of Spain.
The French Government has appointed Mr Sunand Sharma Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honour), the highest French civilian distinction, in recognition of his outstanding achievements as Country President, India & South Asia and Chairman, Alstom India, from 2006 to 2014.
Dr Rajat Kathuria – Economic Policy
Rajat Kathuria is Director and Chief Executive at Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), New Delhi. He has over 20 years experience in teaching and 10 years experience in economic policy, besides research interests on a range of issues relating to regulation and competition policy. He worked with Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) during its first eight years (1998-2006) and gained hands on experience with telecom regulation in an environment changing rapidly towards competition. The role entailed analysis of economic issues relating to telecom tariff policy, tariff rebalancing, interconnection charges and licensing policy. Market research and questionnaire development and analysis formed an integral part of this exercise. It also involved evaluation of macro level initiatives for transforming the telecom industry. He wrote a number of consultation papers which eventually formed the basis of tariff and interconnection orders applicable to the industry. He has taught undergraduate economics at the University of Maryland and is currently on leave from the International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi where he teaches Managerial Economics and International Trade. He has worked with the World Bank, Washington DC as a Consultant and carried out project assignments for a number of organizations, including ILO, UNCTAD, LirneAsia, Ernst and Young, Consultancy Development Centre (CDC) and Standing Committee for Public Enterprises (SCOPE). He has published in international and national journals, besides in popular magazines and newspapers. He is founder member of Broadband Society for Universal Access and served on the board of Delhi Management Association. He has an undergraduate degree in Economics from St. Stephens College, a Masters from Delhi School of Economics and a PhD degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Prof. Sujit Dutta – International Relations
Prof. Sujit Dutta is a political scientist and international affairs specialist. His work over the past three decades covers teaching, research, guidance and mentoring younger scholars and students, editing a leading journal, and journalism. His areas of expertise and current work include Conflict Analysis, The Liberal World Order, Indian Strategic Thought, India-China relations, Chinese politics and security policies, International Politics of East Asia, Theories of War; South and East Asian regionalism; weak states and civil wars.
He has been the UGC M K Gandhi Chair and Professor at the Nelson Mandela Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution (NMCPCR), Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. The Centre is the country’s leading academic institution for peace and conflict studies. His work at the Centre and as the Chair spanned teaching, Ph.D guidance, project work, lectures, conference participation, and writing on themes relating to conflict analysis and peace building. Before he was invited to join the NMCPCR and take up the work of the M K Gandhi Chair, he was Senior Fellow and head of the East Asian Studies Programme at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), India’s premier think tank on strategic and security studies. He also edited the leading strategic studies and international affairs journal, Strategic Analysis, 2005-2008, and transformed it into a refereed international journal published by Routledge.
He was a Senior Fellow at the prestigious United States Institute of Peace, Washington D.C. in 1997-98, and a visiting scholar at the Institute for National Defense Higher Education (IHEDN), Paris (2006). He has a Ph.D from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Prof. Dutta has published over 50 research papers and chapters in books, and has edited the book India and the World: Strategic Thought—the Formative Years. He is currently working on his book Imagined Domain: China’s Approach towards Territoriality and Boundary Settlements. Dutta has been a member of India-China Eminent Persons’ Group (2001-2005) set up by the two governments to deepen engagement and peace, and the National Security Council Task Force on China (2006), Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific Working Group on Confidence Building Measures (1994-1999), and other high-level bodies devoted to international peace and security building. He has collaborated with the Ministry of External Affairs, the National Security Council, the National Police Academy, the NE Police Academy, The Army and Naval War Colleges, the National Defenec Academy, etc. He has been consulted by US Senators, British and French members of Parliament, Ambassadors, the US Office of Net Assessment and other international policy makers on India’s strategic policies, India-China Relations, Asian ties, nuclear policies, etc. He was a senior editor in Press Trust of India (PTI) in charge of foreign affairs and was stationed in Beijing as a specialist on China. He joined the IDSA in 1987 to strengthen its research on China and East Asia.
Prof. Dutta regularly lectures on India-China relations, Conflict Management and Security, China’s Rise and its impact, India’s East Asia Policy, Conflict Analysis, and Regionalism at leading institutions, academies and Universities across the country and the world. Mr Peter Lacy – Growth Strategy & Sustainability
Mr Lacy is managing director for Growth, Strategy and Sustainability within Accenture Strategy and is part of its Leadership Team. He is also a member of Accenture’s Global Leadership Council, and leads Accenture’s relationship with the World Economic Forum and the Digital Transformation of Industries program.
His role focuses on strategy development, offering development, innovation centers and mergers and acquisitions (M&As).
